March – Coming in Like a Lion?

    Good evening everyone

I hope you are all doing well!

As we enter March 2019 tomorrow, it will seem more like we’ll be entering more of a wintry pattern than we’ve had all winter long.

There are 3 systems to talk about. There is also a good amount of cold air in place as we enter March. The first is tonight into tomorrow morning, the second is on Saturday, and the third is for Sunday night into Monday.

For tonight into tomorrow, I expect a trace to an inch of snow north of I-80. I expect a coating to 2 inches from I-80 to central Jersey. South jersey has a shot at 1-3 inches of snow.

See below for an idea on that

For Saturday’s system – it’s looking a bit more interesting! I was thinking maybe 1-3 inches of snow is possible – however the latest data that came out within the hour is suggesting it could be a bit more than that. If it is more than 1-3 I will let you know!

The last of the 3 systems will be much bigger in terms of precipitation. On Sunday into Monday – If it is all snow, I think we could have our first 6 inch plus snow storm of the winter. With that being said, the data is still split in half between all rain and all snow – so if something big materializes I will be sure to let you know.

Thanks everyone and be safe out there!
